this day, we just walked around the Marais area of Paris which is near the Latin Quarter.
We discussed the idea of these buildings called Hotel Particulier, which are basically high scale private condos that were built and rented out.
The Marais area was also built on a swamp that was drained when the Knights Templar learned how to remove the extra wetlands and water which was learned from Arab sources. Even still, when you look at the buildings in this area, you can see the lean that some of them have. The ground and foundations are still sinking so you can sometimes see a dip.
Following this, we went to the musee du Cognac Jay which was a museum dedicated to the hunt. The idea of the hunt was important in the day and age for the Royal family. Palaces and Chateaus were always situated in areas with hunting grounds because being able to have your own game lands was an important display of power and wealth. we got to see a lot of taxidermy animals. i think i found my parisian boyfriend also.
