VERSAILLES

Hello!

Ok, so this was one of the LONGEST days of my trip. it was absolutely gorgeous but i had a better time visiting Versailles as a total tourist two years ago. This year, spoiled by going to unknown museums and interiors, this was UNBELIEVABLY crowded and touristy. Also, there was an exhibition by this modernist portuguese woman and she displayed ostentatious over the top pieces in every room imaginable and it really detracted from the experience of viewing the quarters of versailles where history took place. i think this post is best told by letting y'all view pictures.

After the actual palace, we went to le petite trianon and the hameau gardens which were the living quarters of marie antoinette when she didn't want to live in the palace (get away from the hustle and bustle) and the gardens in which she would spend her days. It was actually the best part of my day, beautiful, simple, and relaxing. It was a blazing hot day (dry heat, 85 degrees...i know its nothing compared to the heat wave back home, but thats hot for here! especially the forecast for the day was cloudy and rainy and that did not happen...i've learned not to trust the weather here) and everyone was exhausted and dehydrated and came back home and crashed. totally passed out. but it was overall fun, a great photo op day and had to be done.

orange juice i speak of later. keep it in mind

sidenote: THE FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE AT VERSAILLES IS THE BEST JUICE THAT I WILL EVER HAVE TOUCH MY LIPS. this juice was soooo delicious. touristy, yes, but these oranges from spain, nothing like them. can't wait to actually go to spain next month. that should be awesome too.

I think Vaux is still my favorite,

  1. Love your dress gurl! And the gardens and roses looked beautiful. I was in Northwest Jersey today right by the Poconos and it was so peaceful and quiet. I can imagine that's what Versailles must've been like. Except like French and everything.
